Studio & Culture

GrandSon is an interdisciplinary design studio with a focus on film, television, and entertainment. GrandSon was founded by Goktug Sarioz, an entertainment industry veteran with 25+ years of experience. The studio’s practice is deeply rooted in art, design, entertainment, and technology.

Served as design lead for over 2 years; oversaw art direction, and the motion department. Guided, and mentored our designers, producers, editors, and writers through the principles of art & design, meditation through practice, and mindfulness.

Created an approach for modular, and flexible design systems, toolkits, and visual identities for our film partners that created a more streamline process, which enabled us to experiment with our craft, and vision for a film campaign.

Introduced new ways of thinking, and understanding for creating the visual language, colors, and aesthetics of a particular film. And often drawing on eclectic analogue techniques, and unorthodox design practices to create something that feels timeless.

Cultivating a sense of studio culture, and branded aesthetics for GrandSon’s online presence. This helped lure, and retain talent while attracting more client work.

Established a design system, and motion language for Radio GrandSon, curated mixtapes created by internal staff and freelancers. GrandSon is an interdisciplinary studio based in Culver City, California.
